French 37/85 Hotchkiss (Howitzer) Round

HE Howitzer Round (Armour Piercing ?)

Head stamp marked up with flaming grenade and Anchor possibly for Naval use ? 30 LOT  R 93 and LT in circle.  Side of case also marked up BR 3. 93 SM and above that R 4.98.  The base of the shell head is also marked up F.98.  So I am presuming the case was produced in March 1893 with the head made in 1898 and the two coupled together as a complete round in April 1898.

In excellent unfired condition, slight rusting to steel shell head.

De-activated and inert.
