Female Alpine Jacket
This is a post-war made female Alpine Jacket, apparently made from surplus German tunics and material in the late 40's early 50's.
The lining is of German tunic quality and has in fact a stamp near the left shoulder of the initial manufacture with sizes and date.
Inside the left lower pocket we found a receipt for a monthly payment to a life insurance company dated November 1950.
The tunic has one small moth hole on left shoulder.
All buttons are original to the jacket and made from wood.
Whether this is a home-made jacket or company made utilising any material available at the end of the war we don't know.
Size of the jacket is approx a UK 10 with a bust of 34 inches.
Ideal for the Mrs in re-enactment displays etc.
