Relic Carry Case for a German Z34 Charge.

A battle relic find in woods near Falaise, Normandy.
A
rare carry case for the German Sprengpatronen Z34 demolition charge.
The case is pretty
rusty with several perforations.
The seal tag is missing and the lid gone, so more than likely this was used to
spike a gun during the rout through Falaise in 1944
The charges designated as
"SprPatr Z" were used for demolition of guns and howitzers.
The model number is named
after the diameter of the explosive charge.
Each charge had a range of
gun models it could be used for.
A field gun at the front
would normally have a SprPatr. Z issued, so the gun could be damaged beyond use
by the gun crew in case they had to abandon it.
