1898 2nd Patt Mauser Bayonet.  

I found this bayonet back in 1994 deep in Thiepval Wood on the Somme.

Thiepval was one of the few success stories on the first day of the battle of the Somme, where the Ulster Regiment captured most of it's objectives.
