Adapted German Officers Riding Boots
A pair of Officers riding boots adapted for a war disabled officer.
Attachment of a zipper at the back of the boot was a common occurrence for soldiers who had suffered wounds to their legs and were to remain in service.
The zippers are of wartime issue with both carrying the logo Zipp and the reverse showing the D.R.P. patent mark of the time.
There is some damage to the zip attachment on the heel of the right boot which would need re-stitching and the small leather strap on the left boot needs repair. (It appears to have been repaired before - see photos). However the leather is still very supple and strong. The boots are approx a size 8.
